When should I get started planning my college education?
I get asked this question a lot. My simple answer is this: It’s never too early, and it’s never too late.
Even if you’re a parent working on finding a school for your 8-year-old, it turns out you’re already laying out the groundwork for their higher education.
Or let’s say you’re a student in eighth grade, and you’re looking ahead to strategize your coursework throughout high school. This is fantastic! Good job on planning for your college education.
Even if you’re a senior in high school, and you’re researching schools that inspire your love of humanities, this is also wonderful! Good job!!!!
Let’s say you’re a working professional who wants to take your career in some new directions. Guess what? It’s not too late to plan your higher education. Take some online courses, explore your passions, research jobs, and programs, or feel free to give me a call to help you map out a plan.

Getting started on building your vision for higher education might be intimidating, I get it. Finding a starting point might look like this:
Examine your interests, activities, and passions.
Then research how these translate into today’s economy. What kinds of career paths speak to your interests, activities, and passions? Love painting? Building ramps in your backyard? Singing? Researching government policies? Reading literature? Taking your bicycle apart and then putting it back together again? These activities could reveal information about your true passions and natural tendencies.
Keep in mind that developing your plan for your higher education is an ongoing process. It’s always changing with every new discovery and adventure. Just being aware of your behaviors and preferences is transformative. This alone can help you design your educational pathways.
